Student Honoured With Provincial Scholarship

February 01, 2011

Second-year Social Service Worker student, Lacey Maracle from Tyendinaga Township, was presented with the Colin Wasacase Scholarship 2011. Paul Latchford, Coordinator of Aboriginal Services at Loyalist College, presented the scholarship on behalf of the Ontario Native Education Counselling Association. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a full-time post-secondary student of aboriginal ancestry who maintained a high academic standing during the first year of a counselling program and then proceeded into the second year. Lacey’s community involvement, leadership qualities and commitment to the Social Service Worker program were key determining factors in the selection process.
