V.P. Enrolment Management & Student Services Appointed

Loyalist President Maureen Piercy has announced the appointment of Bill Walsh as Vice-President, Enrolment Management & Student Services, effective March 21, 2011. Mr. Walsh is a graduate of Dalhousie University, and holds a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Education, and an MBA in Accounting/Finance.

My wife Roxanne and I are looking forward to becoming active members of the Quinte community.”

Mr. Walsh has served as Dean of the School of Business for Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) since 2000. In his current role he has developed and led the School of Business at 13 campuses across the province of Nova Scotia, with more than 150 faculty and over 2,700 students.  As Dean he has provided leadership in the planning and delivery of 21 programs in business, tourism, culinary arts, legal and library disciplines. Mr. Walsh has also been responsible for Part-time Studies and Continuing Education for NSCC. He is the President of the Association of Canadian College Schools of Business, and represents the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) on the national Board of Directors, Forum for International Trade Training. He also serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Governors for the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia.

In addition to his extensive Community College background, Bill Walsh has held several executive management positions with the Government of the Province of Nova Scotia, including Policy Advisor to Cabinet, Director of Customer Service for the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and Director of Business Development. His previous experience includes teaching and educational administration in Halifax and Shelburne, Nova Scotia.
