Acceptance to Residence

Residence life has much to offer every student, but we also recognize that this type of accommodation does not suit everyone. Residence is a shared accommodation which requires cooperation and some compromise. If you are committed to treating yourself, others and our facilities with respect, we welcome your application.

Residence Fees (2021/22) – Fall & Winter Semesters

Suite-Style Residence – Single Occupancy: $6,000 (eight months, September through April)
Townhouse Residence: $7,035 plus utilities (10-month lease, July through April)

The Residence application is available through your myLoyalist portal. 

Applications to Residence will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. A Residence Offer will be available on your myRez portal when you are accepted into Residence.

Within three weeks of receiving your Offer online, you must complete the following:

  • Acknowledge you have read the Residence Community Standards and Expectations – The document can be accessed from the Offer menu
  • Agree to the conditions of the Residence Contract –  The Contract can be accessed via the Offer menu
  • Pay the Residence Deposit – The Deposit page can be accessed from the Offer menu

Students who are not selected will receive an email to the address provided on the applicant’s Residence Application Form (through Banner) indicating their waitlist status. Vacancies will be filled from the waitlist by email or phone as rooms become available. Please be advised that it is difficult to gauge how many people on the waitlist will eventually be offered a room.

Incomplete application forms or those not accompanied with a $50 application fee will not be processed. All students must pay the Residence deposit in full, even if they have applied to OSAP or are being sponsored by an agency


Any student who withdraws from Residence one week prior to the Residence move-in date will be charged a $150 administration fee.

Any student who withdraws from Residence within one week of the move-in date or at any time during the academic year will be charged a $500 withdrawal fee.

Residence Financial Commitment

Thinking about applying to Residence? We’re waiving the $50 application fee! If you have already applied for September 2021, your application fee will be credited to your Loyalist College account.  

Once you receive our Residence Offer, a $500 key and caution deposit will be invoiced to you and is due in July. This deposit is payable online through the myRez portal, and cheques should be made payable to Loyalist College Residence. 

A $100 Residence deferral fee will be added to a student’s account if they choose to defer their Residence fee payment for the academic year by selecting the following payment options in their myFees portal.

  • Payment Option: Plan 1 (Per Semester)
  • Payment Option: Plan 3 (Monthly) 
  • Payment Option: Plan 4 (OSAP)
  • Payment Option: Plan 5 (Sponsored/Funded)
