Financial Assistance

Awards, Bursaries and Scholarships

The Awards, Bursaries and Scholarships Application is now open! The application is time-sensitive and will close automatically at noon on September 18, 2020. Click here for application instructions. Unless otherwise stated, students must be Ontario residents to qualify.

The Weston Family Scholarship in the Skilled Trades

Are you a student in the Skilled Trades? During the course of their studies, Weston Family Scholarship recipients who maintain a specified minimum average may receive up to $4,000 in bursaries from The W. Garfield Weston Foundation and a tuition credit from the College. The Weston Family Scholarship provides incentives for students to go beyond a one-year certificate to earn a diploma or complete apprenticeship training, enabling them to turn a job into a career. The deadline for students beginning post-secondary and apprenticeship programs during the Fall 2020 semester (September start) is September 22, 2020. Apply today!

OSAP

Canadian citizens and permanent residents may apply for government-sponsored financial assistance to help with tuition fees, books and living expenses during the academic year. The program for Ontario residents is known as the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP).

Health Centre

The Health Centre is staffed by a full-time registered nurse, support specialist and part-time attending physician. It provides comprehensive, high-quality and responsive health care services and coordinates the immunization clearance for students attending placements. Visit the Health Centre’s website for a list of services, hours of operation or to book an appointment.

Please note that a valid 2020-2021 Student ID Card is required to access services in the Health Centre.

The Career Centre provides a variety of services and resources that support students and alumni in their career exploration, planning, job search and career development.

IT Services

Technology Services at Loyalist College continuously works to innovate and integrate current technologies into your learning environment. We strive to connect you to your instructors, classmates and employers while ensuring you are well supported.

Service Desk is available to help with issues relating to your connectivity, network account, Blackboard, Banner, email, and any other technical questions you may need answered.

Library Services

The Parrott Centre Library is pleased to provide Loyalist students, staff and faculty with an abundance of resources, including books, eBooks, journals, streaming video and online journal databases. The library’s electronic collections are available 24/7, wherever internet access exists.

Indigenous Services

Indigenous Services at Loyalist College offers support for Indigenous students, including support with applying for and accessing Indigenous student funding, scholarships, bursaries and awards as well as employment and volunteer opportunities as student ambassadors and tutors.

Student Government

Loyalist College Student Food Cupboard

Students in need can shop for available non-perishable food, school supplies and personal hygiene items online. All products in the Student Food Cupboard are free of charge. 

Orders are placed via the myLoyalist portal. The Food Cupboard is located on the third floor of the Kente building (3L1) and is accessible to students for pickup on Wednesday from 9 am – 2 pm. 

My SSP: Mental Wellness Support

Use the My SSP app for 24/7 confidential talk and text counselling. Support is available anywhere in the world and in multiple languages. Click here for more information.
