Please join us for a Risk Management workshop presented by Matt Gemmell.
Matt is a lawyer at O’Flynn Weese LLP in Belleville. Matt practices exclusively in the areas of corporate, commercial and real estate law where he assists clients with respect to incorporations or restructurings and shareholder agreements, succession planning, purchase and sale of businesses, residential and commercial real estate, and commercial agreements.
Matt’s clients include individuals and a broad range of new and existing businesses both large and small from all sectors. He also has experience representing not-for-profit organizations, professional corporations and municipal governments. In this workshop, participants will learn about identification, assessment and prioritization of risks.
Following Matt's presentation, there will be a workshop called 'Introduction to the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations ACT (ONCA)' presented by the Frank Cowan Risk Management Team.
ONCA is expected to come into force in 2016 with a three year transition period. This Act will alter many aspects of the financial and managerial expectations, duties and responsibilities you encounter on a daily basis. The intent of this workshop is to introduce and explain the changes that will occur, and outline the preparations that can be made for a smooth transition.
