Representatives from Henan Polytechnic University Visit Loyalist

April 12, 2013

On April 8th, a delegation from Henan Polytechnic University (HPU) in China visited Loyalist College for the second time.  Loyalist has enjoyed a strong academic cooperation with HPU since 2010, in the fields of Environmental Science and Civil Engineering.  Over 200 Chinese students are studying in our cooperative program at HPU.  Students in this program take a combination of HPU and Loyalist courses in order to prepare themselves to transfer to Loyalist College to complete part of their studies. Students who wish to transfer to Loyalist must meet minimum academic and English entrance requirements.  Discussions are also being held with regard to Loyalist students spending time at HPU in a “study abroad” program as well as discussions that would see Loyalist professors spending time at HPU as guest lecturers.

HPU is located in Jiaozuo City in the northwest of Henan Province with a history of nearly 100 years.  The university has 57 undergraduate programs with a total of 26,972 full-time post-graduate, graduate, undergraduate and 7,000 adult students. HPU began to enroll overseas students in 2006.
