- Indigenous Resource Centre (Room 3H9)
- Loyalist College
Join us in the Indigenous Resource Centre (Rm 3H9) today at 12 pm for a screening of the film Code Name: Butterflies, the first documentary to tell the powerful story of the Mirabal sisters of the Dominican Republic.
This screening is being showed in acknowledgement of the #16Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign, which runs from November 25 (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) and continues until December 10 (the World Human Rights Day).
In Canada, the campaign includes White Ribbon Day on December 6, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Anti-gender-based violence advocates, and Indigenous advocates also honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirit People during 16 Days campaign.
