Belleville, Ontario, September 25, 2019 – Loyalist College student enrolment increased seven percent this September, with day 10 registrations totalling 3,518, Governors were advised at today’s Board meeting. Greater student retention and increased international enrolment, totalling 1,356 students, contribute to a larger student population.
The College’s Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results, made public today by Colleges Ontario, were also shared at the Board meeting. Loyalist College exceeded the provincial average in all five KPIs, including Graduate Employment, Graduate Satisfaction, Employer Satisfaction, Student Satisfaction and Graduation Rate.
“This positive enrolment growth is evidence that students from the region and internationally see Loyalist as a Destination College,” said Dr. Ann Marie Vaughan, Loyalist College President & CEO. “They understand the value of our personalized learning environment and unique experiences we offer on campus and in the community. Our student satisfaction rate is more than five percent above the provincial average and the highest rate in South Eastern Ontario. Ninety-one percent of Loyalist students surveyed felt their education is preparing them for their future career.”

Developed collaboratively by the ministry, Colleges Ontario and student associations, the KPIs allow colleges to gauge their success and determine ways to improve. The figures also provide prospective students and their influencers with details that help them make informed choices about college education and Ontario’s 24 colleges.
