The Loyalist College Alumni Association’s Homecoming festivities hold special significance this year as part of the College’s 40th Anniversary celebrations. The weekend of June 13 and 14 was chosen to correspond with Loyalist’s Convocation ceremonies. The College’s 40th Anniversary year has been filled with reasons to celebrate. The Alumni Association encourages Loyalist graduates to return for Homecoming Weekend to reminisce, renew and initiate friendships, explore the campus and discover all the exciting changes the College has experienced.
“Although we realize that the College is continually growing, changing and making amazing strides forward, I think that celebrating our 40th Anniversary has given us cause to reflect on how many truly wonderful things have taken place at Loyalist,” said Mary Brodie, President of the Loyalist College Alumni Association. “The members of our Alumni Association have played a significant role in that success. Graduates maintain strong ties with the College and have given back to their alma mater in many ways. Some contribute their time and career expertise as guest speakers, student mentors, or as members of program advisory committees. Others turn to Loyalist when searching for new employees, or establishing scholarships and bursaries to help students successfully complete their college studies. There is so much to celebrate and remember. We look forward to sharing those memories with you at the Homecoming.”
The Homecoming celebrations will begin on Friday evening with a wine and cheese reception where registration packages will be handed out. A full day of activities is planned on Saturday, including two topical educational sessions presented by dynamic Loyalist faculty speakers, a luncheon, a Time Capsule ceremony and a Memorial Grove dedication. A relaxing social evening of dinner and dancing will follow. The plans will give alumni a chance to recapture the best of their Loyalist experience and enable everyone to create new memories. A complete Homecoming schedule will be posted on the Loyalist website under Alumni. Guests are encouraged to participate in one or all of the activities and are requested to register in advance.
Following Homecoming Weekend, highlights of the event will be posted on the College website. Plan to spend the entire weekend or drop in to say hello – everyone is welcome!
