The doors of Loyalist College will open wide on Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 until 2:00 to welcome prospective students and members of the community to the annual Spring Open House. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the campus and interact with students and staff. Guests are encouraged to enter the Spring Open House Draw. Winners will receive $2,000 to be applied toward their 2009/2010 first-year tuition at the College.
Loyalist offers over 55 career-oriented post-secondary programs, many of which are offered on a part-time basis. “Applications are still being accepted for this September and if you are curious about the programs and facilities at Loyalist, we encourage you to stop by the Open House,” said Jeff Macnab, Registrar. “We’d love to show you the many reasons that students are choosing Loyalist, including great program offerings, experienced professors, a comprehensive student success program, and a vibrant residence and on-campus community. Faculty and students will be available to answer any of your questions.”
While enrolled at the College, students have access to a full range of support services including career services, counselling, financial assistance, disability services, athletics and student success. Representatives will be available to introduce these services and provide guidance to prospective students. In addition, campus and residence tours will be offered beginning at 10:00 and will continue throughout the event.
Out-of-town guests will have the opportunity to have a guided tour of the City of Belleville from a student’s perspective. The tours will depart from the main entrance of the Kente Building at 10:00, 11:00 and 12 noon.
A parent information session will be held at 1:30. Loyalist Success Services staff will provide tips on how to support your child in selecting the best college to meet his or her needs, what support services are available to enhance your child’s success, and how to be involved if your child is the first in your immediate family to attend post-secondary education.
