Loyalist Practical Nursing Graduates Achieve 100 Percent Success Rate

September 08, 2011

Practical Nursing graduates from Loyalist College wrote the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam following graduation and were 100 percent successful. The registration exam must be taken in order for a nurse to practise in Ontario. All Loyalist candidates scored at or above the provincial and national averages in each category assessed. The 31 graduates of the College’s full-time Practical Nursing program are all employed within their field.

Karen Brooks-Cathcart, Dean of the School of Health and Human Studies, commented that the faculty and staff are very proud of the success of the graduates and the range of opportunities the College offers. “Everyone at Loyalist College is extremely proud of the graduates of the Practical Nurse program.  Their success is a testament to their dedication, commitment and hard work, supported by high quality faculty and staff and a very rigorous, progressive and innovative curriculum.”

Health Studies programs at Loyalist College include a one-year, two semester Personal Support Worker program, the two-year Practical Nursing program, the Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program and a Pre-Health Science program which prepares learners for entry into health science and related programs at the College.
