Loyalist Welcomes Community to Return to Learn Session

January 17, 2011

On Wednesday, January 19th Loyalist College is hosting a Return to Learn session for people considering returning to school. Loyalist offers over 60 career-focused programs, with flexible learning options, including full-time, part-time and distance education opportunities. Participants will be able to evaluate which option best suits their needs. They will also learn about the financial assistance resources available and discover the full range of support services that the College has in place for mature students. In addition, current students who have returned to school will share the experiences they have had as they worked toward their goals. Appointments can be arranged with an advisor to explore further options and assess the value of prior education and work experience that they may be able to apply toward a program of study.

“When an individual has been away from the school environment for a period of time they have a lot of questions and at first it can seem overwhelming,” said Jeff Macnab, Registrar. “Program options, the registration process and financial assistance eligibility are just some of their concerns. At this session we’ll outline opportunities and answer their questions. We’ll provide the information they need to make the education and career choices that are best for them.”

The Return to Learn information session will be held Wednesday, January 19th at 4:30 p.m. in the Wilkinson Lecture Theatre in the Kente Building at Loyalist College. Additional sessions will be held on February 16th and May 25th. For information call (613) 969-1913, ext. 2204 or e-mail info@loyalistcollege.com.
