LOYALIST COLLEGE APPOINTS ANN DRENNAN AS SENIOR VICE-PRESIDENT ACADEMIC AND CHIEF LEARNING OFFICER

Belleville, Ontario, June 16, 2017 – Loyalist College has announced that Ann Drennan will serve as the Senior Vice-President Academic and Chief Learning Officer for the College, effective June 19, 2017. Mrs. Drennan has served as Acting VP Academic since September 1, 2016, and previously as Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, Skills and Technology. “Ann Drennan is an exceptional educator and has made wonderful contributions as a Dean and Acting VPA,” said Loyalist President Ann Marie Vaughan. “I’m delighted that she has accepted this appointment, and look forward to working with her as part of the College Executive Team.”

Ann Drennan brings a wealth of leadership experience from industry, and in both further and higher education. Her educational background includes a Master of Science degree in Occupational Psychology from Queen’s University, Belfast; a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Management and a Post-Graduate Certificate in University Teaching, both from the University of Ulster where she worked for eight years developing and implementing strategic initiatives across the University. She and her department received national recognition for this work which included the development of a comprehensive and accredited Professional Development Program in support of all learning and teaching roles within the institution. She has also completed the Wharton Executive Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Drennan has extensive experience within the Ontario college system, having served as a Chair in the School of Engineering Technology and Continuing Education at Centennial College, and as Dean of the School of Applied Sciences, Skills and Technology at Fleming College for six years prior to joining Loyalist in August 2013.
