LOYALIST COLLEGE BOARD OF GOVERNORS WELCOMES NEW MEMBER

Belleville, Ontario, September 8, 2016 – At the September 8 meeting of the Loyalist College Board of Governors, Chair June Hagerman introduced new Governor Daniel Laffin as the Student Representative on the Board. Mr. Laffin, a second-year Business Administration student, was elected by Loyalist students to serve on the Board for the 2016-2017 year. He will serve as a member of the Academic, Student Affairs and Advocacy Committee. During his first year of studies, Mr. Laffin volunteered as the student class leader for the Business Administration program.

At the meeting, Chair Hagerman also welcomed Dianne Spencer to her first meeting as Interim President as the Board conducts the search for a new President & CEO to replace Maureen Piercy who retired on August 31. Mrs. Spencer introduced Ann Drennan, Acting Vice-President Academic for the current academic year. Ms. Drennan replaces John McMahon, Senior Vice-President Academic and Student Success who left Loyalist at the end of August to return to Vanier College in Montreal as the new Director General (President). Mrs. Spencer also welcomed other members of the College Executive team, including Cathy Rushton, Senior Vice-President Corporate Services & CFO, and Executive Director Don Sinclair whose Human Resources portfolio has been expanded to include Student Success.
