The Applied Research Centre for Natural Products and Medical Cannabis (ARC) is an industry-driven innovation hub at Loyalist College that focuses on developing clean technologies, innovative green extraction methods and advanced analytical methods. Established in 2017, the ARC was the first educational institution in Canada to receive a Cannabis Research License from Health Canada. Today, the ARC also holds a Cannabinoid Analytical Testing license. The ARC provides learning opportunities for Loyalist College students in the Biotechnology and Cannabis Applied Science programs to help prepare them for work in the natural products and cannabis industries.
